江戸時代に赤は魔除けの効果があり「家内安全」「無病息災」「開運吉祥」の縁起物とされている。。

Red was used to ward off evil in the Edo period and so the Daruma was used as a lucky charm to bring safety to the home or to avert disasters, or just good fortune.
